Cumpleaños Feliz
I've been promising a review of Episode three, haven't I? Well, to be honest, I was rather disappointed. Amongst all the hype of "OMG IT'S THE BEST" I was expecting something more. I think that it had the potential of being the best of the prequels, especially with the Yoda/Palpatine and Obi-Wan/Anakin fight scenes. But they were far too short. (Before I go any father, I have to say that I LOVED the fight scenes, they were excellent. They saved the movie from being a total flop.) Palpatine had an amazing, snake-like, close-range fighting style that was rather interesting, it would have been cool to have seen more of it against Yoda's wall-climbing/lighting-fast attacks. Plus them throwing the senatorial seats at each other was pretty sweet. But the fight seemed truncated, and I felt like Yoda fled far too quickly. I mean, one moment, there they are: fighting, equally matched. And then, Yoda just disappears. I mean, sure, I guess it was to avoid having to fight Palpatine AND the incoming clones, but, still...
Then there was the Obi-Wan/Anakin fight. This really had the potential of being THE BEST fight sequence in the whole series, definitely it should have been the most emotional. But again, it seemed too short.
The rest of my complaints are the same as everyone else's: Cheesy dialogue, stiff acting, The "Frakenstien" scene where Darth Vader looks scrawnier than Urkel, Etc. and so on. I did like some of it. Like the fight scenes, and how Midi-Chlorians were mentioned. It was like Lucas was saying: "Take that! It my universe, and I don't care what you think." Which it is. I don't care if the M.C.s are a stupid idea. It's his universe, and he can do as he pleases.
