Finales, invierno, 2006
Well, I've got three finals done. One more to do, and one more to finish. My Spanish final is on Blackboard, so we can save it and return to finish it later. It's also open-book. So, I'm not too worried about that. But my Elang final I am pretty worried about. I've never been very good about remembering terms, and my Elang class has more terms in it that I have to remember than any other class I've ever had. Plus, it doesn't start until tuesday evening, so I've got all that day to ruminate about the thing.
I saw the Benchwarmers last week. It was pretty funny. Not as funny as i would have hoped, but it was worth the 5 bucks I paid. I was pretty surprised, because it was like a tame Adam Sandler movie. In other words, it didn't have any crude sexual jokes, and the body humor (farts, poop, etc.) was at a fairly low level. But it had the same entirely random stuff happening and the same complete disdain for political correctness. The actors were pretty good, but Jon Heder, though he also did a good job, basically re-played the roll of Napoleon Dynamite. It was an appropriate roll for the movie, but I'm certain that he can play other types of rolls.
I kinda snuck in a conversation on campus about this. They were comparing it to Chris Farley. He was a great actor, but once he got into movies, he basically re-played the same roll in different situations, and his movies did kinda suffer for it. I'd hate to see that happen to Jon Heder before his career really starts.
