Camino a casa

Well, I checked out of my apartment yesterday and got on a plane. I'm now (midnight, local time) in Anchorage, waiting for my 4:20a.m. flight home.

I need some real sleep.

Which reminds me... why is it that when you sleep while traveling, it's never as good as sleeping while on a stationary object? Just one of those mysteries, I guess.

*suspiro profundo*

Well, I've finally got all of my finals done. Now I've just a single day to pack up, clean the apartment, and sell some plasma before going home on Thursday.

ugh.

Wish me luck.

Finales, invierno, 2006

Well, I've got three finals done. One more to do, and one more to finish. My Spanish final is on Blackboard, so we can save it and return to finish it later. It's also open-book. So, I'm not too worried about that. But my Elang final I am pretty worried about. I've never been very good about remembering terms, and my Elang class has more terms in it that I have to remember than any other class I've ever had. Plus, it doesn't start until tuesday evening, so I've got all that day to ruminate about the thing.

I saw the Benchwarmers last week. It was pretty funny. Not as funny as i would have hoped, but it was worth the 5 bucks I paid. I was pretty surprised, because it was like a tame Adam Sandler movie. In other words, it didn't have any crude sexual jokes, and the body humor (farts, poop, etc.) was at a fairly low level. But it had the same entirely random stuff happening and the same complete disdain for political correctness. The actors were pretty good, but Jon Heder, though he also did a good job, basically re-played the roll of Napoleon Dynamite. It was an appropriate roll for the movie, but I'm certain that he can play other types of rolls.
I kinda snuck in a conversation on campus about this. They were comparing it to Chris Farley. He was a great actor, but once he got into movies, he basically re-played the same roll in different situations, and his movies did kinda suffer for it. I'd hate to see that happen to Jon Heder before his career really starts.

El intentar.

Sorry... Finals and all that are messing with my free time. Well, that and the fact that I'm pretty pathetic and spend a lot of time doing nothing whatsoever when I should be doing homework.

It's times like this I'm reminded of a Simpsons quote. "Kids, you tried your hardest, and you failed miserably. The moral is: Never try." I had that written up last month on my apartment's whiteboard as the quote of the week.

It's funny how often The Simpsons is correct, even when it doesn't try to be.

Anyway... I'm sorry if I'm depressing you. This post here is more of just an outlet of my own self-frustration that I wont ever actually say to another person, face-to-face.

The internet's weird like that. You'll write out to a billion strangers stuff you would never say to their face.
